LAHORE, DEC 24: All-rounder Shadab Khan, who has shown form in the Big Bash League, is expected to be included for the Sri Lanka series and T20 World Cup 2026.

Sources divulged on Wednesday that the consultations are under way on Pakistan’s T20 squad for the Sri Lanka tour and the T20 World Cup, with an announcement expected soon. Fast bowler Haris Rauf is also under consideration, with a return to the team likely.

Young players Maaz Sadaqat and Ahmed Daniyal are in line for a chance. The deadline to submit the preliminary squad for the T20 World Cup is 7 January.

The squad selected for the Sri Lanka tour is likely to form the basis of the World Cup line-up. The final date for submission of the T20 World Cup squad is 7 January.

It is pertinent to note that the T20 series in Sri Lanka is scheduled for January 7, 9 and 11. The T20 World Cup will be played from February 7 to March 8 in India and Sri Lanka.
