ISLAMABAD, JAN 22 /DNA/: Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja on Thursday referred to upcoming Indus AI Week 2026 as a key national AI initiative under the Prime Minister’s vision aimed at showcasing Pakistan’s capabilities and brand at the global level.
While speaking with a local media channel, Minister Shaza Fatima said that Pakistan’s AI innovations are set to take the lead at Indus AI Week 2026, projecting the country as a rising global AI power.
She mentioned that from February 9 to 15, Pakistan will hold Indus AI Week 2026, a national program focused on promoting AI awareness, training, and implementation nationwide.
She emphasized that the upcoming event will highlight Pakistan’s growing capabilities in artificial intelligence and its commitment to technological advancement.
She added that world leaders, industry heads, top professors and AI experts from across the globe will participate in the week-long event, engaging in discussions, sharing insights and exploring collaborative opportunities.
“This is an important platform for Pakistan to showcase its talent, innovation and potential in AI at an international level,” she noted.
The Minister further revealed that during the event, the Prime Minister will announce key AI policies and strategic pillars, setting the road-map for Pakistan’s AI ecosystem.
She stressed that these discussions will play a critical role in guiding the country’s future in technology, digitalization, and innovation, reinforcing Pakistan’s position as a hub for AI excellence.
Responding a query, she also mentioned that Pakistan has maintained a strong position even during conflicts, such as the recent war with India, with connectivity and digital services remaining uninterrupted.
Highlighting the country’s technological progress, she said that soon Pakistan will establish its place in the global AI landscape, with significant improvements in 5G, 4G and 3G networks.
She added that the youth will benefit from awareness programs, expos and AI-focused training sessions, preparing them for future opportunities.
Shaza Fatima Khawaja further stated that following these initiatives, leadership summits and startup showcases will be organized to support AI entrepreneurship and innovation.
She emphasized that these steps will strengthen Pakistan’s AI ecosystem and provide a platform for young talent to contribute to global AI advancements.
