Freight train derails near Mehrabpur, rail traffic suspended

ISLAMABAD, Feb 9 (APP/DNA): At least ten wagons of a freight train traveling from Karachi to Punjab derailed near Mehrabpur in Sindh’s Naushahro Feroze district, disrupting rail services on both up and down tracks.

According to railway police, the derailment occurred at Deparja Phatak, where ten wagons of the freight train went off the track and five overturned, private news channel reported.

The train was en route from Karachi to Punjab when the accident took place.

Authorities said both up and down tracks were affected by the derailment, resulting in the suspension of train movement in both directions.
