SARGODHA, Feb 11: The provincial level Round-3 of the 3rd Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Inter-Club National Hockey Championship, organized by the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), commenced at the Astro Turf Hockey Ground, Mela Mandi road in Sargodha on Wednesday.
Four matches were played on the opening day of the tournament.
The inaugural match between Multan and Gujranwala ended in a 1-1 draw as both teams displayed vigorous performance throughout the scheduled time.
In the second match, Lahore defeated Rawalpindi hockey team with a clear 6-1 victory after showing outstanding performance. The third match saw Faisalabad outclassing D.G. Khan with a one-sided score of 9-0. In the final match of the day, host Sargodha clinched a 5-0 victory against Sahiwal through excellent teamwork.
Member National Assembly (MNA) Irum Hamid Hamid and Additional Deputy Commissioner (HQ) Majid bin Ahmed attended the opening ceremony as guests of honor.
