Tech-driven skills to youth a vital step towards development of Pakistan: IT Minister

KARACHI, Feb 15: Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja has said that the provision of technology-driven and AI skills to the youth of the country was an important step towards the development of the country.

She said, today, ‘I met the children aged 8, 9 and 10 years old,’ who were working for technological firms established across the world.

Addressing IT entry test ceremony organized by Saylani Welfare International Trust at Hockey Stadium here, the Federal IT and Telecommunication Minister said that no one could stop our children if they were equipped with tech-based skills.

Lauding the role of Saylani Welfare International Trust, she said that the initiative of conducting an IT test was commendable.

Speaking on AI policy, Shaza Fatima said that Pakistan had launched an AI policy and was taking steps in line with Digital Pakistan initiative.

Governor of Sindh Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori, addressing the ceremony, said that the Federal IT Minister was dedicatedly working for making the future of the youth bright.

He said that Pakistan was the winning nation, she defeated India in May 2025 and now she (Pakistan) would beat her (India) in ‘Marka e AI’.

Special Assistant to Chief Minister of Sindh on Science and IT, Ali Rashid, on the occasion, said that the federal and provincial governments were working together for the future of the youth in IT.
