ISLAMABAD, 24 FEB (DNA) — Chairman of the Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani and Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmad Al-Malkiy discussed Pakistan–Saudi bilateral relations in detail, along with the regional and global situation, challenges facing the Muslim Ummah, and avenues for enhanced cooperation across various sectors.The discussion took place during an iftar dinner hosted by the Saudi ambassador in Islamabad on Monday evening.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the historic, deep-rooted, and brotherly ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, and to expanding cooperation into new areas. The event was attended by a large number of prominent political, diplomatic, and social figures.
Among the distinguished guests were Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi, Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, Senator Muhammad Talha Mahmood, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Senator Rana Sanaullah Khan, Minister of State for Interior Muhammad Tallal Badar, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, and former Member of the National Assembly Khurram Dastgir Khan.
Parliamentarians, diplomats, senior bureaucrats, journalists, leading business personalities, and members of the trade community were also present on the occasion. The Chairman Senate conveyed his best wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and emphasised that Pakistan holds its relationship with Saudi Arabia in the highest esteem.
He said that the religious, cultural, and strategic bonds between the two countries continue to grow stronger over time, reflecting mutual trust and solidarity. Ambassador Al-Malkiy said Saudi Arabia attaches special importance to its relations with Pakistan. He reiterated that the two brotherly nations have consistently supported each other’s positions and expressed confidence that bilateral cooperation would continue to expand in the future. — DNA
