Pakistan equally grieved by Khamenei's martyrdom: Naqvi

ISLAMABAD, MAR 1: Interior minister urges citizens not to take the law into their own hands. In the first official response from Pakistan following the reported martyrdom of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi issued a video statement expressing solidarity and grief.

He described the day as one of mourning for the Muslim Ummah, as well as the people of Iran and Pakistan.

In his message, Mohsin Naqvi said today is a day of sorrow for the entire Muslim Ummah.

He stated that the people of Pakistan share the grief of the Iranian nation over the martyrdom of Ayatollah Khamenei.

According to the Interior Minister, every citizen of Pakistan is saddened by the news and stands in solidarity with Iran during this difficult time.

Pakistan shares Iran’s grief

Naqvi emphasized that Pakistanis feel the pain just as deeply as the citizens of Iran.

“We are equally aggrieved by the shahadat of Ayatollah as the Iranians,” he said in his brief message.

He added that the loss has left people across Pakistan in a state of mourning.

Appeal for peaceful conduct

While expressing solidarity, the Interior Minister urged citizens not to take the law into their own hands. He requested the public to remain peaceful and avoid any actions that could disturb law and order.

Naqvi clarified that people have the right to express their emotions, but stressed that any protest should be peaceful. He called on citizens to demonstrate responsibly and in accordance with the law.
