ATTOCK, MAR 2: An important meeting of the District Regional Transport Authority Attock was held at the DC Office Attock under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Attock, Anil Saeed. The meeting was attended by Secretary RTA Sardar Zaheer Ahmed Khan, Chief Officer Municipal Committee Attock Sardar Aftab Khan, and officers from Traffic Police, Mines Department, Punjab Highway Patrol, Motorway Police, Rescue 1122, and other relevant departments.
The main agenda of the meeting was to review arrangements regarding the expected arrival of electric buses in district Attock. Detailed discussions were held on the proposed routes of the electric buses, establishment of terminals, identification of bus stops, and facilities to be provided to passengers. Comprehensive planning was also considered for roadside beautification and improving traffic flow.
It was decided in the meeting that the General Bus Stand and other bus terminals across the district would be upgraded in phases to provide citizens with better, organized, and safer travel facilities. Relevant institutions were directed to prepare a plan of action for improving cleanliness, waiting areas, parking, and basic amenities.
Furthermore, recent traffic accidents were reviewed in detail, and strategies were discussed to prevent such incidents. Proposals included improving traffic management, preventing overloading, ensuring driver fitness, and making road safety awareness campaigns more effective.
Representatives of Rescue 1122 presented their report on recent accidents and response times, and briefed participants on available resources and future measures for dealing with emergencies.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Attock directed that all administrative, legal, and safety requirements be completed before the launch of the electric bus service, and that timely implementation of the decisions taken in the meeting be ensured.
