ISLAMABAD, Mar 11: Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, on Wednesday extended warm greetings to Mojtaba Khamenei on assuming the position of Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In his felicitation message, he conveyed heartfelt wishes and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening the longstanding fraternal ties between the two countries.
The Chairman of the Senate said that the Parliament, the Senate, and the people of Pakistan extend their sincere felicitations to His Eminence Mojtaba Khamenei, said a news release issued here.
He emphasised that Pakistan and Iran share deep-rooted bonds of faith, culture, history, and language, which provide a strong foundation for expanding cooperation across diverse sectors.
The Chairman also expressed profound grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of Ayatollah Khamenei and conveyed heartfelt condolences to the leadership and people of Iran on behalf of the Senate of Pakistan.
