Multan ready to host PSL Season-XI matches from April 1

MULTAN, Mar 13: The historic city of saints was gearing up to host matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season-XI, with the Multan Cricket Stadium set to stage four matches starting from April 1.

Preparations for the mega cricket event were reviewed at a joint meeting of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and district administration chaired by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Nauman Siddique.

During the meeting, officials were given a detailed briefing on arrangements related to team security, stadium management and facilities for cricket fans. The deputy commissioner said ticket sales for the matches would begin on March 24 and dedicated ticket box offices would be established in the city to facilitate spectators.

He added that TCS had been appointed as the official partner for ticketing, enabling fans from across the country to purchase tickets online.

To facilitate spectators, a special shuttle service will be operated from Fatima Jinnah Town to the stadium during match days. The city’s main roads and intersections will also be decorated to celebrate the arrival of the cricket festival.

The deputy commissioner informed the meeting that participating teams were expected to arrive in Multan on March 30. Authorities have been directed to conduct thorough inspections of hotels and strengthen surveillance to ensure secure accommodation for players and officials.

Security agencies have been instructed to ensure foolproof arrangements, with special monitoring of the stadium and routes leading to it. Medical emergency services, including rescue teams and ambulances, will remain on high alert during the matches.

Special sanitation arrangements will be ensured inside and outside the stadium, with dedicated teams of the Waste Management Company deployed to maintain cleanliness.

A comprehensive traffic management plan has also been prepared to ensure smooth movement during the event.
The deputy commissioner further directed authorities to clear routes for the movement of teams and officials, arrange adequate parking facilities for spectators and carry out a special anti-dengue spray campaign in and around the stadium to minimize health risks during the matches.
