Belarus issues more than 2,000 e-visas over year

MINSK, Mar 31: Belarus has issued more than 2,000 electronic visas over the past year, Head of the E-Commerce Department at the National Center for Electronic Services (NCES) Svetlana Karanevich told BelTA.

Since 20 March 2025, the NCES has launched the Electronic Visa Issuance service, significantly expanding the geography of applicants.

“Applicants fill out the visa application form, pay the consular fee, and receive the long-awaited visa file: a document containing a QR code. This QR code must be presented upon entry into the Republic of Belarus. Border officers scan the code and access the Foreign Affairs Ministry’s information system, where electronic visa data is stored, to confirm that the visa linked to the QR code is valid, was indeed issued, has not expired, and that the traveler may cross the border,” Svetlana Karanevich explained.

According to her, since 20 March 2025, more than 2,000 electronic visas have been issued. “The most active users are citizens of the United States, Canada, Germany, South Korea, and European countries,” she noted.
