HEC Talent Shines as Two Cricketers Named in National Test Squad 

Islamabad, Apr 30 /DNA/ – The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan continues to strengthen its reputation as a hub of emerging cricket talent, as two of its standout players, Muhammad Ghazi Ghori and Abdullah Fazal, have been named in Pakistan’s Test squad.            

Muhammad Ghazi Ghori, a wicket-keeper batter, earned his place following an impressive domestic season, scoring 461 runs in the President’s Trophy 2023-24 while also excelling behind the stumps. He was also recognised as the Best Wicket-Keeper in the President’s One Day Cup.  

Abdullah Fazal, a promising left-handed batsman, secured his spot after a consistent performance in the President’s Trophy 2024-25, where he scored 465 runs and provided stability to the HEC batting line-up.

In their separate messages on this success, Chairman HEC Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar and Executive Director HEC Dr. Zia Ul Haq congratulated both the players on their remarkable achievement. They appreciated the dedicated efforts of the HEC Sports Division and the coaches of higher education institutions for their continuous role in developing and nurturing talented student athletes.   

The inclusion of the two players in the national side marks a significant milestone for HEC cricket, reflecting the success of institutional sports in Pakistan and inspiring aspiring student-athletes across the country.
