600 wardens to be deployed as traffic plan finalised for PSL-XI match

LAHORE, May 1: The City Traffic Police Lahore have finalised comprehensive traffic management arrangements for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11 match between Islamabad United and Hyderabad Kings, scheduled to be played Friday at Gaddafi Stadium.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Syed Abdul Raheem Shirazi said around 600 traffic wardens will perform duty to ensure smooth flow of traffic and facilitate cricket fans.

He said strict action will be taken against wrong parking, adding that 11 forklifts and three breakdown vehicles are on standby throughout the event.
The CTO issued a detailed parking plan for spectators coming from different areas. Similarly, citizens coming from Defence and Cantt areas will use Liberty Parking via Hussain Chowk or Sherpao Bridge through Main Boulevard Gulberg. Visitors from Mughalpura and Garhi Shahu will be directed to park at Sunfort Hotel Liberty parking via Main Boulevard Gulberg.

Shirazi further said no road will be permanently closed during the match, and all major arteries including Mall Road, Jail Road, Canal Road, Ferozepur Road, and Main Boulevard Gulberg remain open for traffic.
He assured that traffic will continue to flow normally and that citizens and cricket enthusiasts will not face inconvenience.

The CTO urged the public to avoid illegal parking and use designated parking stands only.
He added that real-time traffic updates will be provided through the Rasta App and Rasta FM 88.6.
