LAHORE, 19 JUN (DNA) — The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration Wing on Friday foiled an attempt at illegal migration at Allama Iqbal International Airport and offloaded a passenger who was allegedly planning to travel illegally to Serbia via Azerbaijan.
According to an FIA spokesperson, the passenger was travelling to Baku on a visit visa when immigration officials found him suspicious during the clearance process. During further questioning and examination, IA officials recovered digital evidence indicating that the passenger intended to proceed illegally to Serbia after reaching Azerbaijan.
The spokesperson said the timely action by FIA Immigration Lahore thwarted the illegal migration attempt. The passenger was subsequently handed over to the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) Lahore for further legal action and investigation.— DNA
