Raisa Adil appointed as Principal Information Officer

Islamabad – The federal government has appointed BPS‑20 officer of the Information Group, Madam Raisa Adil, as the new Principal Information Officer (PIO) and Executive Director General of the Press Information Department (PID). She succeeds Mobashir Hassan, who has been posted as Director General Digital Media Communication. Meanwhile, Shahzad Ahmed, the incumbent head of Digital Media, has been assigned the role of Director General Press Information Department.

Raisa Adil brings with her a distinguished career in public service. Prior to this appointment, she served as Director General of the External Publicity Wing, where she played a pivotal role in projecting Pakistan’s image abroad and strengthening communication channels with international stakeholders. Her extensive management experience and proven leadership skills are expected to transform the PID into a more dynamic and transparent institution.

Officials believe that under her stewardship, the department will emphasize transparency, efficiency, and cordial relations with media stakeholders. Her appointment is seen as part of the government’s broader strategy to modernize its information apparatus and adapt to the evolving media landscape.

Outgoing PIO Mobashir Hassan, now tasked with leading Digital Media Communication, is credited with initiating reforms in the PID during his tenure. Shahzad Ahmed’s new role as DG PID is also viewed as a strategic move to integrate digital and traditional communication platforms more effectively.

The reshuffle reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening its information management system, ensuring that official communication remains credible, transparent, and responsive to public needs. With Raisa Adil at the helm, the Press Information Department is poised to enter a new phase of institutional growth and stakeholder engagement.
