Islamabad, July 16, 2026 — The 4th round of Pakistan–Portugal Bilateral Political Consultations took place in Islamabad, marking another step toward strengthening ties between the two nations.

Ambassador Ayesha Ali, Additional Secretary (Europe), led the Pakistan side, while Ambassador Helena Malcata, Director-General for Foreign Policy, headed the Portuguese delegation.

During the consultations, both sides reviewed the full spectrum of bilateral relations and explored avenues for enhanced cooperation in trade, investment, labour mobility, agriculture, renewable energy, information technology, education, and culture.

The two delegations also exchanged views on regional developments, international issues, and coordination in multilateral forums. The Portuguese delegation further called on the Foreign Secretary, underscoring the importance of sustained dialogue.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to closer bilateral cooperation and agreed to maintain momentum in their engagement.
