ISLAMABAD, 05 AUG (DNA) — Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi on Wednesday announced the restoration of two suspended passenger trains, saying the decision had been taken in response to persistent public demand and in the interest of the national railway system.
The Babu Passenger train operating between Lahore – Lala Musa will resume service from August 20, while the Sandal Express, running from Multan to Sargodha via Jhang, will be restored from August 21, said a news release. The minister said both trains had remained suspended since the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hanif Abbasi said the restoration of the two services reflected the government’s commitment to improving rail connectivity and facilitating passengers. He said Pakistan Railways would restore more train services during the current year to further strengthen the rail network.
The minister said that passenger facilities would also be enhanced in line with the vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, with special emphasis on improving service standards and ensuring greater convenience for commuters. — DNA
