RIYADH, AUG 7: There is “credible intelligence” that suggests Iran-backed proxies and the IRGC are preparing to attack Saudi Arabia, a senior Saudi source told Al Arabiya English late Thursday.
The Saudi source said there were “multiple credible intelligence reports” indicating coordination between Yemen’s Houthis, Iraqi militias, and Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to prepare attacks against Saudi Arabia.

The source said the reports were particularly alarming as they come while the Kingdom continues efforts to promote de-escalation and peaceful solutions, with negotiations moving in a positive direction.
Saudi Arabia will not hesitate to take all necessary measures to respond to any aggression, the source added.
This comes shortly after Iraqi sources said they had information indicating that armed factions intend to launch drone attacks against “neighboring countries with drones within 48 hours.”
Potential attacks may target civilian and energy facilities, including critical infrastructure, airports, and ports, the Saudi source said.
According to the Saudi source, some of the intelligence gathered includes observations of missiles and drones being repositioned in preparation for potential simultaneous attacks.
On US-Saudi cooperation, the source said coordination remains “very strong” at all levels, including between the two militaries.
