BEIJING: The Consulate General of Pakistan in Chengdu hosted a grand reception marking the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China at Wanda Reign Chengdu.
Mr.Tanvir A. Bhatti, Consul General of Pakistan in Chengdu, presided over the event. Mr. He Yanzheng, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Sichuan Provincial People’s Congress and Ms. Zhang Tao, Director‑General of the Foreign Affairs Office of Sichuan Province were the chief guests. The gathering brought together consular representatives of multiple countries stationed in Chengdu, people from all walks of life in Sichuan, as well as members of the Pakistani community in southwest China to mark this important milestone in bilateral relations.

A video message by H.E. Khalil Hashmi, Ambassador of Pakistan to China was also broadcasted. He noted that culture serves as living testimony to friendship, with art giving tangible expression to the heartfelt bonds between peoples. He recalled the profound friendship forged by Pakistan and China through 75 years of shared weal and woe, and extended sincere gratitude to all sectors in Sichuan for their consistent support for Pakistan‑China friendship.
Mr. He Yanzheng, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Sichuan Provincial People’s Congress, spoke at the reception. He extended felicitations on the 75th anniversary of Pakistan‑China diplomatic ties. In his speech, he highlighted that Sichuan will leverage its comparative strengths, broaden people‑to‑people and cultural exchange channels, advance multi‑faceted sub‑national interactions with Pakistan, and contribute Sichuan’s share to the China‑Pakistan All‑Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.
The reception featured distinctive Sino‑Pakistani cultural displays and performances. An exhibition of Chinese and Pakistani calligraphy works was displayed, where calligraphers from both countries engaged in artistic exchanges. The artistic presentations from Chinese and Pakistani sides offered guests an immersive experience of the time‑honored cultural affinity shared by Pakistan and China. Special Qawali performance by Pakistan’s Marifat Sufi Band remained hallmark of he event.
The reception enabled Chinese and foreign guests to mingle, exchange greetings and converse on friendship and cooperation.
The local audience enjoyed Pakistan and Chinese artistic collaboration and expressed that the bilateral relations between China and Pakistan should touch new heights in future.
