RIYADH, SEP 20: Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan said on Sunday that the Kingdom’s participation in this year’s United Nations General Assembly session reflected its approach of engaging with the international community, continuing its role in supporting international peace and security promoting dialogue and mediation.

Speaking to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Prince Faisal said that the Kingdom views the proceedings of this session as an opportunity to reaffirm the principles on which international institutions, foremost among them the United Nations, were established.
The top Saudi diplomat said that the Kingdom affirms the need to uphold the principles of international law in light of the current developments in the region including respecting the sovereignty of states, the peaceful resolution of disputes, and the safety and freedom of navigation in international waterways.
Prince Faisal also told SPA that the Kingdom this year places great importance on sustainable development, particularly artificial intelligence technologies and their responsible use to develop various sectors, enhance their efficiency, and support innovation.
