DUBAI, SEP 21 /DNA/ – Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Chairman of Dubai Police and Public Security, has died at the age of 76.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, led tributes to his brother following his death.
In a message on X, Sheikh Mohammed expressed his grief and prayed for mercy for Sheikh Ahmed, saying he would remain in the hearts and prayers of his family despite his passing.
“May God have mercy on you, my brother. You have settled with a Generous and Great Lord,” Sheikh Mohammed wrote, offering prayers for his brother’s place in Paradise and for patience for his family and loved ones.
Sheikh Ahmed was the fourth and youngest son of Dubai’s late ruler, Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, who ruled Dubai from 1958 until his death in 1990. He was also the youngest brother of Sheikh Mohammed.
Sheikh Hamdan Pays Tribute to Uncle
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, also mourned the death of his uncle.
Sheikh Hamdan said Sheikh Ahmed would remain in the hearts, memories and prayers of the people of Dubai and the UAE.
He prayed that God would grant Sheikh Ahmed mercy and a place in Paradise, while giving his family and the people of Dubai and the Emirates patience and solace.
The death of Sheikh Ahmed marks the passing of a senior member of Dubai’s ruling Al Maktoum family, with tributes led by senior members of the UAE leadership.
