MBS launches CEER’s first electric vehicles, EXOBOT sedan and SUV

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has launched EXOBOT, the flagship electric vehicles from CEER, the Kingdom’s national automotive company, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Monday.

The launch marks a milestone in Saudi Arabia’s efforts to develop its industrial sector and strengthen its position in the global automotive industry, according to SPA.

“The launch of CEER’s first vehicles represents another step forward in Saudi Arabia’s progression to build a sustainable and prosperous industrial ecosystem,” SPA quoted MBS as saying.

He added that the launch further enables the automotive sector as a key driver of economic growth by attracting investments, empowering national talent and expanding the private sector’s role, with the aim of positioning Saudi Arabia as a leading regional and global hub for the industry.

The EXOBOT sedan and SUV are part of a planned portfolio of seven models that CEER will launch over the next five years, according to the report. The lineup will include mid-size and compact vehicles to serve different customer needs.

The vehicles will be manufactured at the CEER Manufacturing Complex (CMC), the largest automotive production facility in the Middle East and one of the world’s most technologically advanced.

According to SPA, the EXOBOT sedan and SUV feature designs inspired by Saudi Arabia’s landscape and rooted in its culture and vision. The vehicles were designed and engineered locally and developed according to global standards.

By 2034, CEER is projected to contribute more than $8 billion to Saudi Arabia’s gross domestic product and more than $21 billion to improving the country’s trade balance, while creating direct and indirect jobs, SPA reported.

The PIF launched CEER in 2022 as Saudi Arabia’s first vehicle brand, with the aim of supporting the development of the national industrial ecosystem, attracting investments, creating opportunities for the private sector and increasing Saudi GDP, according to SPA.
