ISLAMABAD, Oct 02 (APP): Following interviews of Associate Professors held last Friday, the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has appointed new principals for two ICT boys’ colleges, with the selection process and consideration of seniority drawing keen interest among teaching faculty.
According to notifications issued by the FDE, Mr Ehsamullah Baig, Associate Professor at Islamabad Model Postgraduate College of Commerce, H-8/4, has been posted to Islamabad Model Postgraduate College (IMPC) H-8 as Vice Principal with immediate effect.
He is scheduled to assume charge as Principal on October 17, 2026, following the superannuation of Prof Athar-ul-Islam, the incumbent principal.
Meanwhile, Mr Ahmad Jamal, Associate Professor at Islamabad Model College for Boys (IMCB) H-9, has been transferred and posted as Principal of IMCB Sihala with immediate effect. The appointment follows the superannuation of Prof Zahoor Ahmed on September 29, 2026.
President of the Federal Government Colleges Teachers Association (FGCTA), Professor Akram Khan Khosa, welcomed the appointments and appreciated Director General FDE Javed Iqbal Mirza for ensuring transparency in the process. He said the selection process had given due consideration to seniority, experience and the prescribed eligibility criteria for appointment as principals.
Professor Khosa expressed hope that the newly appointed principals would play an effective role in improving educational standards at their respective institutions and addressing academic and administrative challenges.
He particularly expressed optimism about IMPC H-8, saying the college had a strong academic tradition. He hoped that the new leadership would help restore the institution’s former academic standing and further strengthen its educational environment.
