RAWALPINDI, OCT 5 /DNA/ – Director Excise, Taxation and Narcotics, Rawalpindi Division, Nauman Khalid, has said that the Excise Department Rawalpindi Division has shown significant improvement in revenue collection during the ongoing fiscal year 2026-27 compared with the corresponding period of the previous year.
Talking to journalists, Nauman Khalid said that the department had so far collected Rs3.973 billion (Rs3 billion 97 crore 31 lakh 91 thousand) during the current fiscal year. During the corresponding period last year, the department had collected Rs3.154 billion, showing an increase of more than Rs974 million, or approximately 21 percent.
He said that the total revenue collection target for Rawalpindi Division for fiscal year 2026-27 had been fixed at Rs14.520 billion (Rs14 billion 52 crore 4 lakh 35 thousand). As of September 26, 2026, approximately 27 percent of the annual target had been achieved.
Nauman Khalid pointed out that the percentage of the target achieved during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year was 37 percent; however, the overall amount collected during the current year was substantially higher.
He attributed the improved revenue collection to the collective efforts of the entire department and expressed his appreciation for the officers and staff for their dedication and hard work.
The Director Excise said that officers and officials were making every effort to facilitate citizens in matters related to the Excise Department and ensure timely collection of government revenues. He added that further measures were also being taken to improve revenue collection and departmental performance.
