QUETTA, Oct 18 (DNA):Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Sunday paid tribute to the security forces for their successful operations against terrorists in Quetta, Noshki and Khuzdar, saying their effective actions reflected professionalism, vigilance and an unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the province.
In a statement, the chief minister said the security forces had demonstrated exceptional capability by eliminating eight terrorists allegedly operating under Indian patronage during separate operations in Quetta, Noshki and Khuzdar. He described the achievement as evidence of the forces’ professional competence and operational preparedness in the fight against terrorism.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti particularly commended the timely response of security personnel in the Panjpai area, where an attempt by terrorists to establish a road blockade was successfully foiled. He said the swift action prevented disruption to public life and frustrated the designs of anti-state elements seeking to create instability.
The chief minister lauded the security forces for thwarting the terrorists’ nefarious intentions and acknowledged their continued sacrifices in safeguarding the province against security threats.
Referring to the recovery of weapons and ammunition from a terrorist hideout in Noshki, he termed the operation a significant success that would help weaken militant networks and prevent future acts of violence.
He also highlighted the seizure of 490 kilograms of explosive material from a terrorist hideout in Khuzdar, describing it as a major breakthrough in counter-terrorism efforts and an important step towards neutralising potential threats to public safety.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti reiterated that the establishment of law and order and the protection of citizens’ lives and property remained among the provincial government’s foremost priorities. He said the sacrifices made by security forces and law enforcement agencies in the war against terrorism were invaluable and deserved the nation’s appreciation.
The chief minister emphasised that hostile elements would not be allowed to disrupt peace in Balochistan or interfere with the daily lives of its people. He said the government remained determined to ensure that anti-state actors failed in their attempts to undermine stability and development in the province.
He further stated that operations against terrorism would continue under the national Vision Azm-e-Istehkam framework until the complete eradication of terrorist networks and their support structures was achieved. According to him, sustainable peace could only be ensured through decisive action against both militants and their facilitators.
Reaffirming the provincial government’s commitment to maintaining peace and security, Mir Sarfraz Bugti said the Government of Balochistan stood firmly with the security forces and law enforcement agencies and would continue extending full support to their efforts aimed at ensuring long-term peace, stability and public safety across the province.
