ISLAMABAD, Nov 5 ( DNA News ):One person was killed while six others sustained injuries when a portion of a two-storey building collapsed in the Qalandaria Chowk area near Naya Nazimabad Flyover on Thursday.
According to rescue sources, the incident occurred during construction work at a shop located in the building, causing the roof to collapse and trapping people under the debris, a local news channel reported.
Rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the site and launched an operation to retrieve the victims from the rubble.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Bari, rescue officials said, adding that the injured were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical treatment.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the roof collapse.
