Nepal ambassador requested PAL for Nepalese literature translation in Urdu

ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of Nepal Tapas Adhikari Adhikari  had a meeting with the Chairman of Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) Prof. Dr. Yousuf Khushk in Islamabad. During the meeting, they exchanged the views to enhance cooperation in the field of literature between Nepal and Pakistan.

They also discussed on the possibility of Nepali and Pakistani literary exchange to further enrich mutual understanding between Nepal and Pakistan. The ambassador requested the PAL to translate Nepali literature into Urdu and other Pakistani language that could be helpful to reach Nepali literature into Pakistani people.

Since Nepal and Pakistan have been enjoying close and friendly relationship, we also discussed on the need to include Nepali and Pakistani literature in our education system for better understanding of contemporary literature of neighborhood. During the meeting, I handed over Urdu translated copies of Sardar Rudra Raj Pandey’s “Roopamati” to Prof. Khushk, the ambassador said in a statement.

PAL is a national academy of Pakistan under the Government of Pakistan with main focus on Pakistani literature and related fields. It is the largest and the most prestigious learned society of its kind in Pakistan. The Academy was established in July 1976 by the Government of Pakistan to promote literary activities in the country.
