He further said,. Malaysia, like many other countries, has not been spared from the Covid-19 pandemic. Learning to recover from its effects has certainly been difficult. It has made us re-think and re-evaluate the way we manage our daily life.

A defining feature of the COVID-19 pandemic is digital transformation. Of which, has filled every aspect of our lives besides altering economic, social and structural domains. This pandemic has led to the rise of digital technologies, by which have supported governments and businesses in adopting agile and adaptive responses.

He added, the Right Honourable Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Prime Minister of Malaysia in his keynote address during the Asean Business Investment Summit 2021, said that there is an urgent need in increasing digital-ready micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) among the Asean community. Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) that are lacking in access to technologies are facing the greatest risk of being left behind in this post-pandemic era.

All of those efforts are meant to develop a more digitally- ready talent among Malaysians. Through this whole-of- society approach, we firmly believed that more people will be able to equip and upgrade themselves with the necessary skills for inclusive growth.
