ISLAMABAD: /DNA/ – Highlighting serious flaws and loopholes in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) prohibited funding verdict, PTI Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhry said that the banning Chairman Imran Khan and the party was none of their business.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, he said that Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja pronounced a reserved verdict in PTI prohibited funding case after meeting with the PDM leaders before the verdict.

He said that the unconstitutional and illegal decision was announced on the request of Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, adding that the ECP gave the decision in a haste, which completely acted as a tool of PDM.

Fawad stated that a different verdict was published on the website, adding that the decision was not the same before, as the decision contained the signature of election commission members from Sindh against whom a reference has also been filed.

He said that the CEC should have to recuse from the case, as PTI has already filed reference against the commissioner, adding that the ECP did not have any legal power to send reference to the government.

Fawad said that the party would appeal against the ECP’s decision, which he declared in contravention to the law and the Constitution, adding that the government cannot ban any political party.

Highlighting serious flaws in the verdict of ECP, PTI leader said that several locals and dual nationals have been shown as foreign nationals.

Fawad stated that Beenish Faridi was a British national of Pakistani origin, who has recorded her video too but declared a foreign national. He said that if they had received a notice before the decision, they would have given an explanation, he added.

He emphasized that all the money came through legal channels, adding that there was a difference between affidavits and certificates, as there was also a difference in their writing. Shahbaz Sharif gave the affidavit and sent it to Nawaz Sharif, he added.

Fawad said that Shaukat Khanum received Rs. 9 billion annually, but it was not known who gave the money, all the money came in a legal way, Ayan Ali was needed to send money laundering money.

He said that Fazlur Rehman claimed that they could not submit an account because they were running with the help of the unseen, adding that everyone knew that these people take money from abroad, as the accounts of PPP for 2014 and 2015 were not verified, besides transferring crores of rupees to the accounts of Sharif’s employees.

He said that Benazir Bhutto accused Nawaz Sharif of taking money from Osama bin Laden to oust her government, adding that the issue of PML-N and PPP were also pending in the ECP.

Fawad went on to say that the PTI was going to challenge the verdict of ECP in PTI prohibited funding case and would demand action against the electoral body.

Talking about the talks of putting the names of PTI leaders in ECL, Fawad said that Imran Khan did not go out of the country even once after ousting his government through foreign backed conspiracy.

He said that putting his name on ECL would be just another stupidity, as PTI would continue to fight this fascism and the people’s right to elect the government would be respected in any case.

Fawad further said that soon the government would be asked to take a vote of confidence, as the government has lost the trust of the allies; however all the things cannot be told in the press conference.

He said that they could not go for elections because they scared of crushing defeat since Imran Khan was the most popular leader in the country. Fawad stated that the government launched campaign against overseas Pakistanis because these people were running away from the election.
