AJK PM expresses resolve to secure scheduled ‘Bank Status’ from SBP

            MIRPUR (AJK): :The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi has expressed determination to take all necessary steps for securing the formal scheduled-bank status for the state-run Bank of  Azad Jammu and Kashmir soon.

He said “under the vision of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan,  the AJK  government is taking concrete steps for the welfare of the people of Azad Jammu  Kashmir”.

The Prime Minister expressed these views while talking to Muhammad Khurshid Khan, Senior Vice President, National Bank of Pakistan, Syed Akhtar Ali Shah, Regional Head in the federal metropolis late Sunday. The  Finance Secretary Ismatullah Shah was also present on the occasion.

The Prime Minister said that AJK Bank has branches all over Azad Kashmir and after obtaining the status of Scheduled Bank, its branches would be open all over Pakistan in Gilgit-Baltistan and then in the Gulf countries in the second phase. 

He stressed the need to promote AJK Bank to strengthen the IT sector.

He said that we have the example of neighboring China where the standard of living of the lower class has been raised in 30-40 years and that is why today China is a superpower.

He said the government has focused its attention for the well being and development  of the middle class and it is the vision of the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan.

He said that according to Imran Khan’s vision, extending loans to the people for the construction of houses would boost the economy and it would also help the construction sector and the government would provide subsidies in this regard. 

The delegation thanked the Prime Minister and assured him of their full cooperation in this regard.
