The authority has also warned of rising water levels in major rivers and urging citizens and local authorities to prepare for emergencies.
The capital city, Islamabad, and its twin city, Rawalpindi, experienced intermittent showers throughout the day on Monday, bringing relief from the sweltering heat and humidity. The skies remain overcast, with heavy rains forecast in various parts of the country today, according to the Met Department.

Additionally, flood warnings are in effect for Marala and Khanki on the Chenab River, and Mangla in Jhelum.
According to the NDMA, water flow is expected to rise in:

Move valuables and livestock to safe locations
Stock food, water, and medicines for three to five days
Stay informed through official channels and local administration
Local governments and disaster response teams have been ordered to keep dewatering pumps, machinery, and emergency services on standby for immediate action.
