Ambassador Dr. Jemal Calls on Governor of Punjab, Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, FEB 26 (DNA):H.E. Dr. Jemal Beker Abdula, Special Envoy and Ambassador Extraordinary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, called on H.E. Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, Governor of Punjab, Pakistan on Wednesday here at the Governor House Lahore.

Both the sides exchanged ideas on the matters of mutual interest and explored various areas of bilateral, regional and multiple cooperation to strengthen the bilateral relations of the two countries.

H.E. Dr. Jemal briefed the Governor Punjab about robust progress in the bilateral and multilateral cooperation of the two countries in the areas of business, trade, investment, health, education, science and technology and climate change.

The Ambassador said the FDR Ethiopia is a gateway to Africa, playing a crucial role in the Look Africa and Engage Africa Policy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan which is aimed at increasing presence of Pakistan in African continent. 

He said the Ethiopian Airlines has been launched in Karachi and soon its operations would be commenced for Lahore which would further strengthen the two countries relations by enhancing business-to-business and people-to-people ties.

Ambassador Dr. Jemal said he has been striving to connect Pakistan not only with the FDR Ethiopia, but also entire Africa, he said while highlighting the instrumental role being played by the Ethiopian Airlines in the Look Africa and Engage Africa policy.

The Ambassador, on the occasion, extended an invitation to the Governor for the Single Country Exhibition of Pakistan being hosted by the FDR Ethiopia this year in May.

On the other hand, the Governor appreciated the role and vision of H.E. Ambassador Dr. Jemal for promoting the bilateral relations between the two countries and assured full support of his good office for taking the bilateral ties to new heights.

He hoped that bilateral ties of the two countries that enjoyed longstanding brotherly relations would grow further in future.

The Governor appreciated the Green Legacy Initiative of H.E. Dr. Abiy Ahmed, expressing his desire to work closely with the Ambassador to take such initiatives that are essential to tackle the climate change. Ambassador Dr. Jemal Calls on Governor of Punjab, Pakistan
