ISLAMABAD, Oct 26 (APP/DNA): Once again, the heart of Islamabad is set to come alive with color, rhythm and tradition as the annual Lok Mela kicks off from November 7 to 16, welcoming visitors from home and abroad to celebrate Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage.
Tradition and talent will shine at Islamabad’s annual Lok Mela, scheduled for November 7–16, where visitors can experience vibrant folk music, traditional crafts, and cultural performances, local media and Radio Pakistan
reported.
The ten-day festival will showcase the country’s rich cultural heritage, bringing together artisans, folk musicians, and performers from across Pakistan. Visitors can expect a vibrant display of handicrafts, traditional music, dance performances and a variety of cultural activities celebrating the diversity of the nation.
Organized by the National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage (Lok Virsa), officials said the festival this year will also mark the Golden Jubilee of Lok Virsa’ s establishment. The event aims to celebrate five decades of promoting and preserving Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage.
Like every year, citizens of Islamabad and visitors from across the country will have the opportunity to enjoy a wide array of cultural programs, including folk music, traditional dance and handicraft exhibitions. The festival promises a vibrant and colorful experience for families, art lovers and tourists alike.
Pavilions representing all provinces, along with Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, will offer visitors a glimpse of regional crafts, folk music and traditional cuisine.
Adding a global touch, the festival will host an international pavilion featuring delegates from 12 countries.
The organizers have ensured robust arrangements for security, refreshments, and smooth facilitation of attendees.
