GHOTKI, AUG 27: Unidentified gunmen have killed a local journalist in Sindh’s Ghotki district. The victim, Bachal Ghuniyo, associated with Awaz TV, was attacked by armed men in Rawanti, Ghotki.
After the attack, the assailants escaped. Ghuniyo’s body was taken to Ubauro Hospital.
The police are investigating the murder, suspecting it may be related to previous personal conflicts.
This incident follows the killing of another journalist, Nasrullah Gadani, who was shot in May near Mirpur Mathelo, Ghotki district.
Gadani was attacked by armed men while on his way to the Mirpur Mathelo Press Club and was initially treated at Mirpur Mathelo DHQ Hospital.
He was subsequently moved to Sheikh Zayed Medical College Hospital and later to Aga Khan Hospital in Karachi, where he died on Friday morning.
“I am deeply in grief and sorrow along with Nasrullah’s family and media organisation he is affiliated with”, CM added.
