KARACHI, NOV 21 /DNA/ – The Chairman of National Business Group Pakistan, the President of the Pakistan Businessmen and Intellectuals Forum, the President of All Karachi Industrial Alliance, the Chairman of the FPCCI Advisory Board, and the President and former provincial minister, Mian Zahid Hussain, said on Thursday that the unwavering commitment and efforts of Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir for peace and political stability are commendable.
He said the country’s economy is also improving rapidly due to the Army Chief’s interest, for which the business community pays tribute to him.
Mian Zahid Hussain said that while addressing the meeting of the Apex Committee of the National Action Plan, the Army Chief said that whoever obstructs Pakistan’s security will have to face the consequences and that every Pakistani is a soldier in the war on terror.
Talking to the business community, the veteran business leader praised COAS for saying that we all have to fight the scourge of terrorism together.
The COAS furthered that the constitution imposes on us the responsibility for Pakistan’s internal and external security.
Mian Zahid Hussain said there is no doubt that economic stability and peace in the country are linked to eliminating terrorism. If we have to move the country’s development forward, terrorism has to be eliminated because this is Pakistan’s biggest challenge and should be a top priority.
The business leader added that whenever an important event takes place in Islamabad or anywhere in the country, the opposition starts protests, which is tantamount to damaging the economy.
He added that IDEAS 2024 is being held in Karachi, an important event for defense products. Delegations from 55 countries have come to participate.
He observed that a political party has not been able to get any major relief for its leaders from the protests and long marches in the recent past, but despite this, repeatedly doing so on special occasions is a betrayal of the country’s interests.
Mian Zahid Hussain said that despite the announcement of an attack on Islamabad, the stock market is snowballing, which shows that investors are not ready to give any importance to these claims.
Mian Zahid Hussain further said that the government’s action against the cigarette mafia is right. Various influential mafias in the country steal billions of rupees in taxes and operate fake invoices on a large scale, which has disadvantages.
In the past, many finance ministers and FBR chairmen tried to crack down on these mafias but failed. It has been decided to take action against them, which is very timely because it is impossible to meet Pakistan’s revenue target without them.
