ISLAMABAD, MAR 16: Acclaimed author and activist Fatima Bhutto and her husband Graham (Gibran) have welcomed a baby boy. The couple expressed their delight at the news by sharing it with their fans through social media.

In a post accompanying the announcement, Fatima Bhutto revealed the significance behind their choice of name for their son, whom the couple have named Mir Murtaza Byra. She shared that they sought a name that would imbue their child with qualities of courage and kindness as he navigates through life.

It was important for them to select a name that would serve as both an inspiration and a source of love and strength for their son, she wrote in the caption.

The author also expressed her desire for the chosen name to envelop her son with grace and fearlessness, embodying a sense of his homeland and bringing joy to his life. After much contemplation, she found herself drawn back to her father’s name, recognizing its power to encapsulate the values and sentiments they wished to instil in their child.

Fatima concluded her message by seeking prayers for the family.

The granddaughter of former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Fatima had tied the knot in Karachi on April 27, 2023. The nikkah ceremony had taken place at the family’s residence in Karachi.
