BAHAWALPUR: The threat of the Congo fever continues to loom in the country as Bahawalpur reported on Saturday one case of the Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF).
According to details, 42-year-old Zafar Iqbal belongs from Khanewal, and was shifted to Bahawal Victoria Hospital after suffering from fever and his nose was bleeding.
The case of the dairy farm worker was declared a suspected Congo fever.
Iqbal had been receiving treatment at the dengue isolation ward.
Few days back, two cases of Congo fever were reported in Balochistan, taking the number of total cases to 26 across the province in the ongoing year.
According to details, the test reports of both the patients went positive. The affected person, hailing from Quetta and Loralai, had been shifted to the wards, where they are receiving treatment.
The Fatima Jinnah Hospital administration said that 55-year old Abdul Hameed belongs from Quetta and 60-year-old Muhammad Khan hails from Loralai.
Meanwhile, two of the suspected patients from Quetta had also been admitted to the hospital. The test samples of the suspected patients had been sent to the laboratory. 55-year old Naeema Jan belongs from Chaman Phatak, whereas 31-year-old Roohullah belongs from Hazara Town.
