Democracy, elections in Pakistan stalled for return of one person: Bilawal

LAHORE, Oct 24 (DNA): Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal
Bhutto Zardari on Tuesday paid tribute to all the workers who sacrificed
their lives during the polio campaign.

In a statement on World Polio Eradication Day, Bilawal expressed hope
that very soon Pakistan will become one of the polio-free countries of
the world.

Further, he said, “It’s a matter of concern as a Polio case has been
discovered in Sindh during this month so parents should give polio drops
to their children.”

“A polio-free Pakistan was the dream of late Ms. Benazir Bhutto and to
fulfill her dream, the political commitment and intentions of the
People’s Party is strong”, he added.

Taking to the micro-blogging website ‘X’ formally known as Twitter, he
gave a message to the public in order to make Pakistan a polio-free
country.

It is pertinent to mention here that the first anti-polio program in the
country was started by the late Ms. Benazir Bhutto who started the
program by first giving polio drops to her daughter Asifa Bhutto
Zardari.

Moreover, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari also marked the World Polio Eradication
Day saying we have to ensure the eradication of this disease.

“The fight against polio has been going on for a long time, we should
all work for polio-free Pakistan together and protect our children from
this disease through regular vaccination”, she said. DNA
