ISLAMABAD, Mar 15: Member of the British Parliament Afzal Khan Sunday marking the International Day to Combat Islamophobia, reaffirmed his strong commitment to confronting anti-Muslim hostility and called for greater awareness and collective efforts to end hate crimes and discrimination against Muslim communities.
Afzal Khan, while speaking exclusively to PTC News, commended the efforts of the Labour Party (UK) government to address anti-Muslim hostility and emphasized the importance of raising awareness to eliminate hate crimes and discrimination.
He said the government has also launched a campaign aimed at strengthening measures to combat Islamophobia and promoting greater understanding and respect among communities.
He further noted that monitoring mechanisms are being introduced across government departments, along with a dedicated task force to closely examine the issue and ensure effective steps are taken to counter anti-Muslim hatred.
He concluded by emphasizing the vital role of collective responsibility and coordinated action to protect communities, warning of the serious consequences if hostility and discrimination are allowed to persist.
