Canadian Envoy Pays Tribute to Fallen Soldiers in Islamabad Ceremony

ISLAMABAD: (DNA) – Canadian High Commissioner Tarik Ali Khan participated in a solemn ceremony held in Islamabad to honour and remember those who laid down their lives for freedom during the First and Second World Wars.

Speaking on the occasion, the High Commissioner paid tribute to the courage and sacrifice of soldiers who fought for peace and liberty. He noted that over 111,000 Canadian and 162,000 British Indian soldiers lost their lives in the two World Wars, leaving behind a lasting legacy of bravery and shared history.

The ceremony highlighted the enduring bond between nations forged through shared sacrifices and the commitment to uphold global peace and human dignity. Diplomats, defence representatives, and members of the expatriate community attended the event to pay their respects to the fallen heroes.
