Car dealers seek FPCCI’s support on tax and registration issues

ISLAMABAD, SEPT 3 (DNA) – A delegation of All Pakistan Car Dealers and Importers Association (APDA) visited FPCCI under the leadership of Mr. Sardar Irfan President APDA Islamabad and met Mr. Atif Ikram Sheikh President FPCCI at Capital Office Islamabad. Vice President of CCI Tariq Mehmood Jadoon was also present. The delegation included Punjab President Tariq Rajput, General Secretary Mohammad Wasim Abbasi, President G-8 Center Ajab Khan, President G-10 Center Qasim Shah, President F-11 Center Sheikh Waqas and others. The delegation expressed its concerns on various issues including taxes, vehicle transfer issues, unnecessary and self-imposed taxes, arbitrariness and harassment by the excise office, vehicle registration and said that car dealers and importers complying with legal requirements are the most affected. Due to the arbitrary nature of excise officials and staff and illegal taxes, doing business is extremely difficult. The delegation sought the cooperation of President FPCCI to solve their problems, it is important that we compete in the local market.

President FPCCI assured the delegation that we are ready to resolve all APDA issues. He said that FPCCI continues to support all business community and industries without discrimination.

Mr. Atif Ikram Sheikh, President, FPCCI assured the delegation that FPCCI will not leave alone the car dealers . He said that APDA issues will be solved immediately by contacting the relevant authorities. Atif Ikram Sheikh President FPCCI added that the business community is going through a difficult period, but FPCCI is struggling day and night to solve the problems of the business community, increase exports, increase foreign exchange reserves for the recovery of the country’s economy.
