CDA union hails progress on promotions, demands swift plot allotment

ISLAMABAD, JAN 20 /DNA/ – An important meeting of the central office-bearers of the CDA Mazdoor Union and representatives of the CBA committees was held at the Central Union Office, Chairman Office Complex. The meeting was presided over by Union President Aurangzeb Khan and was attended by central office-bearers, CBA committee representatives and a large number of CDA employees.

Addressing the meeting, General Secretary of the CDA Mazdoor Union Chaudhry Muhammad Yaseen expressed gratitude to the CDA administration for holding a Joint Works Council meeting to address workers’ issues. He appreciated the administration for engaging in positive negotiations on all demands and for issuing immediate instructions for their resolution.

He stated that on the demand of the CDA Mazdoor Union, the resolution of issues including the line of promotion through the CDA Board is a commendable step. This development will help clear long-pending promotions of employees and ensure a more secure and brighter future for them.

Chaudhry Muhammad Yaseen further said that the case regarding the allotment of plots to employees is currently under hearing in the courts. He urged the administration to take a personal interest in the matter and while respecting court decisions, complete the process of balloting at the earliest. He also demanded that all field staff including sanitation workers who perform duties beyond prescribed working hours, be granted overtime and other benefits to ensure their economic stability.

He reaffirmed that the CDA Mazdoor Union will continue its struggle for the rights of workers and expressed confidence that the remaining issues would also be resolved soon.

At the conclusion of the meeting, a collective prayer was offered for the forgiveness of the departed souls including former Patron-in-Chief of the CDA Mazdoor Union Al-Haj Raja Muhammad Rafiq, the father of Abid Foreman, Environment), the mother of Manzoor Hussain (Deputy Director Security), the mother of Saleem Bhatti, the mother of Malik Ehsan (President, CBA Committee), and Dawood Hussain Shah.
