ISLAMABAD, SEPT 2 /DNA/ – An important meeting was held at the CDA Headquarters chaired by Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa. The meeting was attended by CDA Board Member Admin and Estate Talat Mahmood, Member Finance Tahir Naeem, Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, Member Planning Dr. Khalid Hafiz, DG Works, DG Building Control, Chief Officer MCI and other senior officers.
A detailed review of the progress of various ongoing development projects in Islamabad city was undertaken during the meeting. Chairman CDA directed to ensure the high quality and timely completion of new and ongoing projects along with the immediate resolution of issues faced by citizens.
During the briefing, it was apprised that the bidding process for the construction of the underpass at Shaheen Chowk has been completed. A detailed briefing on the design of the Shaheen Chowk underpass was given. Chairman CDA directed that an alternative traffic plan be formulated to maintain smooth traffic flow during the project’s construction activities and that temporary parking arrangements for citizens and university students be made on the adjacent space near Fatima Jinnah Park. He further instructed that, keeping in view the rainy season, all arrangements related to the groundbreaking and commencement of work on the project be finalized soon.
A detailed briefing was given on the T-Chowk Rawat flyover project, and it was informed that the bidding process has been completed. Chairman CDA directed that LED lights and SMD’s be installed on a permanent basis for the T-Chowk Rawat flyover project.
The meeting reviewed the redesign and remodeling of the project to resolve traffic issues at the Faizabad Interchange. Chairman CDA said that the redesign at Faizabad Interchange should be such that it resolves the traffic issues on a permanent basis.
The meeting was briefed that to ensure proper and modern lighting arrangements in Islamabad city, the installation of LED lights is ongoing on the main highways from Srinagar Highway to the New International Airport, Faizabad to Shah Faisal Mosque and on Margalla Road from F-5 to F-11. Furthermore, the old and defective lights on the main highways of Islamabad are being replaced on a priority basis with new, modern, and aesthetically pleasing LED lights. It was informed that the process of changing 1,419 LED lights in the Capital City Islamabad has been completed so far, while the remaining lights will also be replaced within the current month. Chairman CDA instructed that the installation of lights and poles in F-9 Park and other remaining parks in Islamabad be completed soon.
The meeting reviewed the progress on the project to upgrade the CDA Nursery into a “Gardenia Hub.” The meeting was briefed that the CDA Nursery has been upgraded as a “Gardenia Hub,” wherein the construction of greenhouses and floral shops has been completed. Chairman CDA directed that a specific area be allocated in the CDA Nursery for the diplomatic community and for tree plantation by them.
The meeting was briefed that the work on the boundary walls, along with the uplift of the graveyards located on the Expressway, will be completed soon.
Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa directed that the pace of work on all development projects be further accelerated all possible measures be taken to provide quality facilities to citizens, and all resources be utilized for the timely completion of these projects.
