ISLAMABAD (DNA) Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing is leaving Pakistan after completing his term.

The Chinese ambassador has already started paying farewell calls. On Monday the ambassador paid a farewell call on the Naval Chief Zafar Mahmood Abbasi.

During the meeting both sides discussed matters of mutual interest.

The Naval chief lauded efforts of the outgoing Ambassador for promotion and strengthening of bilateral relations.

Ambassador Yao Jing during his tenure in Pakistan focused on building a strong Sino-Pak relationship.

Ambassador Yao Jing will also be meeting other Pakistani dignitaries in the coming days. He will report back to his foreign ministry and then considered for next posting.

Ambassador Yao Jing spent an eventful tenure in Pakistan. He had to work tirelessly to convince PTI leadership that China really wanted to work with all political parties and it did not had any favorites in Pakistan politics.

When PTI govt took charge, there was an impression as if PTI leadership would not carry forward CPEC as it was done in Nawaz Sharif tenure. However with the passage of time both sides were able to overcome ‘misunderstandings’ and now things appear to be back on the track- credit of which goes to Ambassador Yao Jing also.
