Chinese, Pakistani firms partner for 1GWh energy storage solutions

ISLAMABAD, AUG 17 (DNA) — Chinese energy storage company HiTHIUM has formed a partnership with Imperial Electric Co. (IEC Pakistan) to distribute 1GWh of residential and commercial & industrial (C&I) energy storage products throughout Pakistan. Gwadar Pro reported quoting a HiTHIUM’s statement. An agreement to this effect was signed at the China International Energy Storage Expo (EESA EXPO) in Shanghai.

In addition to product distribution, the companies will “jointly develop customized energy storage systems to address Pakistan’s specific energy challenges, ensuring optimal performance under local conditions.”  HiTHIUM also plans to establish a local service center to provide technical expertise and support.

The agreement marks a significant step in Pakistan’s rapid adoption of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), another green and renewable energy source.  In July, Karachi-based Liberty Mills added a 4.25 MWh battery storage to its renewable energy capacity. Lucky Cement, also based in Karachi, recently installed a 20MWh BESS, so far the largest in the country, according to the installer firm, Reon Energy. — DNA
