CM Maryam departs for five-day official visit to Japan

LAHORE, AUG 15: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has departed for a five-day official visit to Japan, becoming the first CM from Pakistan to undertake such a state-level visit to the country.

According to details surfaced on Friday, the visit came at the invitation of the Japanese government. Senior officials bid farewell to the Punjab CM and her delegation at Lahore Airport.

The delegation included Punjab senior minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, provincial information minister Azma Bokhari, Sohaib Bharath and Zeeshan Rafiq, Special Assistant Sania Ashiq, along with high-ranking government officers.

During the visit, CM Maryam Nawaz will travel to Tokyo, Osaka and Yokohama. She is scheduled to attend the World Expo in Osaka and meet with senior Japanese officials. The agenda also included visits to various Japanese institutions.
