RAWALPINDI, Nov 26 /DNA/: Mr. Ali Ardeshir Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (NSA Iran), called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
The high-level meeting focused on bilateral cooperation, emerging regional security challenges, and the need to further strengthen ties between Pakistan and Iran.
Both sides held detailed discussions on the prevailing security environment in the region. Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to regional peace and stability, stressing the importance of enhanced collaboration with Iran to jointly combat terrorism and address shared security concerns. He underscored that strategic cooperation between the two neighbouring countries has become increasingly vital amid evolving geopolitical developments.
Mr. Larijani appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional peace and acknowledged its importance in ensuring long-term stability. He expressed Iran’s desire to deepen cooperation with Pakistan and highlighted the significance of sustained dialogue and partnership to effectively tackle regional challenges.
The meeting concluded with a mutual resolve to strengthen bilateral engagement and work closely for peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.
