Motorway Police launches comprehensive anti-encroachment drive on GT road
ISLAMABAD, MAR 16 /DNA/: The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) N-5 North Zone has launched a thorough anti-encroachment drive on GT Road, aiming to ensure smooth traffic flow and eliminate unauthorized activities near the highway. This initiative seeks to remove obstructions, promote safe driving, and enhance road safety.
The NHMP’s four-phase plan includes sensitizing stakeholders, serving legal notices, and holding consultative meetings. The drive covers key areas, including Peshawar, Nowshera, Kamra, Taxila, Tarnol, Rawat, Gujar Khan, Jhelum, Gujrat, Lala Musa, and Gujranwala.

Collaborating with NHA, local government, and TMAs, the NHMP has:
- Cleared illegal green belt areas of petrol pumps and CNG stations
- Registered FIRs against encroachers
- Established a permanent anti-encroachment squad for monitoring and strict action
The NHMP’s zero-tolerance policy underscores its commitment to upholding road safety and discipline.
