Condolences pour in from Hockey community on the passing of Parvez Kayani

RAWALPINDI, MAY 29 (DNA): The hockey fraternity across Pakistan has expressed deep sorrow and condolences on the passing of Parvez Aslam Kayani, President of the Rawalpindi Hockey Association and a former international hockey player.

President of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), Mir Tariq Hussain Bugti, and PHF Secretary General Olympian Rana Mujahid Ali Khan led the tributes, acknowledging Parvez Kayani’s immense contributions to the sport both on and off the field.

Several legendary Olympians and former international players, including Olympian Qasim Zia, Olympian Chaudhry Akhtar Rasool, Olympian Islahuddin, President Punjab Hockey Association Olympian Muhammad Asif Bajwa, Olympian Shahbaz Ahmed Sr., Olympian Khalid Hamid, Olympian Khawaja Junaid, Olympian Malik Shafqat, Olympian Shakeel Abbasi, Olympian Zeeshan Ashraf, Olympian Qamar Ibrahim, Olympian Sheikh Usman, Olympian Kamran Ashraf, Olympian Danish Kaleem, Olympian Anjum Saeed, and Olympian Sameer Hussain, also offered their heartfelt condolences.

Notable former international players including Abuzar Umrao, Asif Khan, and Secretary of Balochistan Hockey Association Syed Ameen joined in mourning the loss, remembering Kayani as a passionate advocate for hockey who worked tirelessly for its promotion in Rawalpindi and beyond.
