LAHORE: A Cricket Australia (CA) delegation reviewed security arrangements in place here ahead of their men’s team’s tour of Pakistan for a three-match T20I series next month, sources told Geo Super on Tuesday.
According to the insiders, CA’s recce team will inspect venues, including the Gaddafi Stadium, National Cricket Academy (NCA) and Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) Ground here, as part of its routine visit.
It will be briefed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and security forces’ officials regarding the arrangements in place for the upcoming series.
For the unversed, the Australia men’s cricket team will tour Pakistan in early 2026 for a white-ball series, scheduled to be played in two phases.
In the first phase, the two teams will lock horns in a three-match T20 series, tentatively scheduled to be played at the end of January 2026, ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, set to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8.
The Baggy Greens were originally scheduled to return to Pakistan after the mega event for a three-match ODI series in March, but it is now expected to be played after the conclusion of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 11.
The Future Tours Programme had originally listed the series for March 13-19.
Australia last toured Pakistan in 2022 for an all-format series, comprising three Tests, as many ODIs and a one-off T20I.
The touring side won the Test and T20I assignments, while Pakistan emerged victorious in the 50-over format.
